IEBC declares date for Kibra Constituency by-election

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has gazetted 7th November 2019 as the date for Kibra Parliamentary by-election.

The seat became empty after the death of former Member of Parliament Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer on July 26th 2019.

IEBC further stated that each political party intending to take part in the by-election should submit names of candidates to participate in the Party Nominations. According to IEBC, the nominations will take place in September 9th and 10th.

All those aspiring for the seat will be have to wait until Monday September 9th 2019 to start their campaigns. The campaign period will go all the way to Monday 4th November 2019 two days before the by-election day.

During the campaign period, the campaign time will be as from 7am to 6pm.
