Modernizing Chinese military

China has the 2nd largest defense budget in the world at $215 billion. This budget is expected to keep growing every year into the unforeseen future. The country owns a brand-new aircraft carrier.

Despite the huge budget the Chinese government is reported to have reduced the number of solders in its standing army by 300,000 and decided to use the money elsewhere.

The Chinese government has led efforts in modernizing its military through acquisition of the newest technologies.

The country’s is reported to have launched its 2nd aircraft carrier. In comparison, the United States of America owns 10 aircraft carriers. Despite the huge budget, China has a long way to go before she overtakes America.
