Under Collection from Flower Cess in Nakuru County

Reports from the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) reveals that the Nakuru County Executive under performed in its collection of revenues from Flower Cess in Nakuru.

The County had set a target of collecting Ksh. 53.9 million but ended up collecting Ksh. 11.4 million or just 21% performance. This means that there was a variance of Ksh. 42.4 million was may have been caused by the fact that Nakuru County had not collected statistics to show the annual turnover of all the flower firms on its territory. Hence, the county would not determine the amount payable from each of those firms.

In such circumstance, Nakuru County executive may have set ambitious targets which were not achievable.
