KCPE 2017 Results
On 21st November, the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education results were released by CS Fred Matiang’i. The best candidate scored 455 out 500.
Education Cabinet Secretary released the results at Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development in Nairobi.
All the candidates who sat for examinations will receive their results. 1,003, 556 candidates sat for exams. The school teachers were applauded by the CS for their efforts to ensure that there were no irregularities.
The candidates can access the results through SMS by sending their index numbers to 22252 or online on KNEC website portal.
Goldalyn Kadiya emerged the best candidate, 2017 KCPE, she scored 455 out 500 points. She is from St. Anne Junior Lubao in Kakamega County.
Six of the top 100 pupils were from special needs schools. 9,846 candidates scored more than 400 marks. About 2,360 candidates got less than 100 out of 500 marks.
In 2016, the best candidate scored 437 out of 500 marks.
All the candidates, from public and private schools who scored above 400 marks will join national schools next year.
The number of those who scored less than 100 marks has dropped by more than 4000, as compared to 2016 KCPE.
Form one selection will start on 4th December. By 12th December the placement process will be completed.
20 scanning machines were bought by KNEC to replace the old machines that were bought 17 years ago. The new machines were purchased at Kshs90 million.
