Political Parties nominations to be conducted in April

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) requires that all political parties conduct their nominations by April, 2017. 

Nomination process is expected to raise dust of discontent over fairness. We’ve already witnessed migration of part supporters to destinations where they believe they can get nominated.

Vices like nepotism, favoritism and tribalism will come into play during the nominations. Candidates who do not have fat bank accounts will be pushed out into the cold!

Politics in Kenya is a cut-throat competition. Politicians have been seen to go to any length to make sure that they remain in circulation. 

At the IEBC, the Dispute Resolution Committee, has to be well prepared to deal with the reported irregularities during the nominations. 

Free, credible and transparent nominations is one step towards peaceful elections in August 2017. Let’s all take it seriously.
