Rwanda’s authorities in the capital Kigali have imposed a fine of $10 on those people who don’t wear masks in public or not wearing them correctly.

Those who violate the two-metre social distancing rule will also be fined the same amount.

Organisers of illegal gatherings will be fined $200 and those who attend $25.

These are some of the measures the Rwandan authorities have put in place to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Over 4,200 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Rwanda. The virus has claimed 17 lives.
