How is sugar imported into Kenya?

Recently Rai, a business mogul, who is accused of having imported sugar laced with mercury, copper and lead clarified that there is a process followed before one imports sugar into Kenya.

You take in all the requirements according to the laws of Kenya. You start with the sugar directorate, you have to get a license.

You go to the Kenya Bureau of Standards to get their approval. You get the IDF and then the shipment takes place.

Everyone was importing from Brazil. I also imported from Swaziland.
