ZDNet History – Technology News Portal

ZDNet is a general technology news portal which was founded in 1st April, 1991 by Ziff Davids. The site serves 36 million users every month with content focused on information technology.

Larry Dignan is the current editor of the online publication. The website has operations abroad in: France, United Kingdom, India, Taiwan, Australia, Korea, Italy, Spain, China and Russia among others.

On May 1998, Ziff Davis established ZD TV, a cable TV channel plus website offering news about internet and computing. This TV business was supported by 170 staff members.

ZDNet was acquired by CNET in 2000 valued at USD$1.6 billion. Currently ZDNet’s content is generated by 30 expert bloggers.
