Uhuru Kenyatta Wins Second Term As President of Kenya

IEBC Chairman Mr. Wafula Chebukati,  is currently announcing the presidential results.  He started by reading the presidential results from all the counties.

There are 47 counties plus the 48th County (diaspora). The results from diaspora are as shown below:

  • Uhuru Kenyatta = 1,504 votes
  • Raila Odinga = 1,321 votes

Uhuru Kenyatta  won the elections with a landslide. He garnered 8.2 million votes or 54% of the votes cast. This is in the background of several complaints made by the main opposition figures.

He was followed closely by Raila Odinga with 6.76 million votes or 44.74 percent of the total votes cast.

Raila Odinga did not attend the ceremony at Bomas of Kenya.

There is plenty of celebrations in the Jubilee strongholds  since Uhuru Kenyatta won the elections.
