Shocking: North Korea Olympians in Rio not Allowed to Accept Free Samsung S7 phones

To me the Olympics represent aspects of national pride, physical strength, human spirit and finally great swag!  Imagine training for most of your life just to be part of the Olympics. This is an event that happens once every four years. This may explain why the Olympic results are always superb.

The participants in these games receive valuable bags of goods after winning. During the Olympics 2016 Samsung (official partner of 2016 Summer Olympics) offered 12,500 Galaxy S7 Edge gadgets to the participants. The devices are all RIO-branded. It is surprising that not all athletes will walk away with these gadgets.

Asian media house, Radio Free Asia reported that it is difficult to be an Olympian from North Korea. The North Korea officials are not allowing their athletes to accept the Samsung android phones. The 31 phones meant for the athletes were given to the officials who kept and never delivered to the intended owners!

Many analysts around the world have reported that this may be an attempt for the officials to limit the athlete’s communication to the rest of the world.
Let us say no to suppression!

Let’s us hear your thoughts about this story in the comments.

I have seen two ladies of Kenyan origin but of Bahrain citizenship win two medals; one gold, another Silver. What is this in Bahrain that made them transfer their citizenship and then win!

Kenyans are born champions! They would have won even if they were Kenyan citizens.
