The Division of Revenue Bill (DORB) was passed on 25th March, 2015 by Members of Parliament. This Bill authorizes the sharing of revenue between national and county government for the financial year 2015/2016.
The counties will get Shs. 258 billion to share among themselves while the national government will get Shs. 978.69 billion. The MPs initially made attempts to slash the budget for counties but later on they passed the DORB without any adjustments. Now, the total allocation to counties will increase to Kshs. 283.7 billion due to additional conditional allocations such as loans and funds for level 5 hospitals.

Now that the DORB has been passed by parliament, it will be submitted to senate for consideration and further amendments.
